Overview and Slandered Features

2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel is in good books of almost all the major reviewers and analysts of the internet like Cars.com, Edmunds, CNET and Kelly Blue Book etc.

It is one of the best off-road SUVs of today which is fulfilling all the major demands for instance easy-to-use latest tech, outclass performance, best interior and comfort level.

It has an authoritative V6 engine, but the optional turbo-diesel V6 is perfect to churn out power with eight-speed automatic transmission which is desirable for swift, leveled shifts. While its EPA-estimated fuel economy is just so-so, i.e. 15/25 mpg city/highway in general but the diesel-powered trim level has a 22/30 mpg city/highway which is quite satisfactory. Reviewers are also happy with its maneuverability, it is thankful to its small-turning circle and “predictable handling”.

This jeep has a rocking interior full of high-quality items or features. Its front and rear seats are also broad and comfy with ample legroom. It is decked with latest infotainment system which has no match yet in the market. However, there is also a complaint about its cargo-room which is not so spacious than other SUVs of its like.

Standard Cherokee offers keyless entry plus push-button start, dual-zone self-regulating climate control and Jeep’s Uconnect infotainment system. It involves a USB port, six-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, 5-inch touch-screen and an SD-card slot.

Body, Trims & Features

2014 Cherokee is a SUV of middle-size which accommodates five-passengers and it has five trim levels: SRT, SUMMIT, OVERLAND, LIMITED & LAREDO.

Among these five, SRT is 4WD and the priciest: to get hold of this you need to pay $63, 195.
The standard Jeep offers automatic headlights, 17-inch wheels of alloy, fog-lamps, cruise control, full-powered accessories, keyless ignition, tilt & telescoping leathered steering wheel, dual-zone AC, six-speaker sound system, Bluetooth, %-inch touch-screen, CD player, auxiliary audio jack along with USB port.
While these features differ from one another in all trim levels.

INTERIOR Interior of Grand Cherokee 2014

2014 SUV Cherokee gets an alluring interior which stunned all the reviewers. These features are easy to use and enjoyable.

It adds a new informative 7-inch display, a 8.4 inch touch-screen which is available in all Grand trims except for one. It has all the fun things that a driver could imagine like Smartphone app integration and Wi Fi hotspot etc.
Having cozy seats for four to five passengers and an ample (though not competent) luggage-area makes it an enjoyable ride.
In Edmunds words, it has one of “The Nicest Interior” in its class.

Under the Hood & Performance

3.6Liter V6 flex-fuel engine is standard in it which squeezes out 290 hp and 260 lb-ft torque. However, SRT has a 6.4 L V8 engine and obviously, it is more powerful, which cranks out 470 hp and 465 lb-ft torque.
(Note that there are also other engines like turbocharged and diesel available for different trims)

All trims use an automatic transmission of eight-speed; it is a four-wheel-drive which comes up with best off-road performance. Its standard gas mileage is 17 mpg city and 25 mpg highway which is also not so bad.

The Verdict

We cannot stop giving 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee full marks for all it’s under the hood, interior and exterior features. It is indeed a canny choice for drivers who drive with attitude.
